ANNOUNCEMENTS SEPTEMBER JOURNAL is available in the Narthex. Please pick up your copy and help St. James' save on postage! HOMECOMING SUNDAY September 9th . There will be a continental breakfast at 9:00 AM, between the services, in the Chapel. We will also be registering children for Sunday school. MERLIN'S GRADUATION Merlin is going back to the seeing eye for formal training. He is an 18 month old golden retriever. He has been raised by Lindsay Modugno and the Modugno family. After a rigorous physical and behavorial exam he will start with a trainer. This formal training takes between 4-6 months. We will keep you posted on his progress. The congregation is thanked for their support and tolerance! The Modugno's are awaiting another seeing eye puppy. COAT COLLECTION As you ready closets for fall in the next couple of months, please remember to bring gently used coats and sweaters to St. James' for the Seamen's Institute. A collection box will be available on the Mitcham House front porch. SANCTUARY LAMP AND SPIRITUAL BOUQUETS are available on many Sundays for parishioners to sponsor in memory of a loved one, or in thanksgiving for a special event. Donations made to sponsor the Sanctuary Lamp go to St. James' Altar Guild. Donations made for Spiritual Bouquets are used for the gifts which are given to graduating high school seniors. If you are interested in being a sponsor, please call the office (908.852.3968). YOUTH GROUP NEWS Youth Group will begin meeting on September 9 th . We will discuss plans and activities for the coming year. All youth grades 6-12 are welcome. Classes are discussion based with a focus on Christian and biblical values. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month (except holidays) during the 10 o'clock service. Questions or comments: see Dawn Modugno or Lori Pursel. INNISBROOK GIFT WRAP SALE The Fundraising Committee is sponsoring a gift wrap and candy sale. The sale began August 19th and will run until Sunday, September 24 th . Please take a book and consider selling to your co-workers, friends and family. Questions: speak with Ellen Infante. BOTTLE BRIGADE The Fundraising Committee is now saving 20 oz. SODA bottles (no water bottles, please) to redeem for cash. See insert for details! ALUMINUM CAN FUNDRAISER aluminum cans are being collected.
